Beluga show disgusts Royal City family

To the editor: The beluga show at the Vancouver Aquarium is disgusting for the people who care about animals, especially when you know that the new beluga whale is pregnant and that the space is so small the calf will most likely be sold to another aquarium. Kidnapping animals from the wild to use them as clowns while they are pregnant-and afterwards selling their babies to be clowns in a small prison for the rest of their miserable lives, teaching kids that animals are to be trapped and have to work playing silly games in a degrading way to earn their food in order to amuse humans - is really sad and horrible. If kids are to learn about wildlife, then they can watch free happy families of whales at the sea, not in a crowded, pathetic swimming pool ringed by bleachers that blind the poor animals.
