BELUGAS DESERVE BETTER FROM SOCIETY 

To the Editor: Thank you for your recent article describing the deplorable conditions for beluga whales held in captivity at the Vancouver Aquarium ("Anti-whale captivity coalition says beluga fundraiser shows cruel", Dec.30/01). I am opposed to the breeding and trading of beluga whales and wholeheartedly support the efforts and commitment of the Coalition For No Whales In Captivity for a more humane, responsible society for all living creatures. - Jeri-lyn Ratzlaff
