SeaWorld's Application was approved to import Bjossa

Dear All,

I have very bad news. SeaWorld's permit application to import Bjossa into the US was approved last week and the Vancouver Aquarium says it plans to ship Bjossa to San Diego the third or fourth week in April. I'll let you know when a vigil or a rally will be held for Bjossa.

It is a shame and so sad that Bjossa is not going home to Iceland to join Keiko in his rehabilitation program. Instead she will be shipped to SeaWorld where she will live the rest of her captive life in another concrete tank. If you would like to write to the Aquarium to express your concerns and opposition to sending Bjossa to SeaWorld, please contact aquarium CEO John Nightingale <nightij@vanaqua.org>

For those of you in Vancouver, watch CBC TV News tonight at 6 pm - and please come to the Park Board meeting on Monday, March 26 at 7pm at 2099 Beach Avenue (low brown building at the entrance to Stanley Park). Help send a clear message that Bjossa should not be replaced by new dolphins.
