Well done, gang!
Three of your letters to the editor were picked for publishing in
today's Vancouver Sun. Congrats to Lori Cumiskey, Lynne Sommerville and
Nikolas Chapman.
And thanks to all of you who wrote a letter, even if it didn't get
published in today's newspaper, because chances are that receiving a large
amount of letters prompted the editors to write an editorial piece
opposing the aquarium's plans to capture more marine mammals for display.
The editorial is titled "Where the wild things are" and it
concludes, "Uses of animals may be justifiable in some cases,
especially when they're already domesticated or have become dependent on
humans. But it would be wrong for the Vancouver Aquarium today to take any
more animals from the wild."
Isn't that great? Lori, Lynne and Nikolas's letters were published
along side a letter from John Nightingale himself, who wrote to complain
about things he had said...but really didn't mean to say.
Nightingale's letter is the usual verbal diarrhea, but for one
important piece of information: Bjossa will NOT leave Vancouver before
April 1!
Could this all be an April Fools joke?
