Bjossa on TV Sunday, Oct 22 @ 7PM Rogers Community TV Vancouver Cable
4
Dear All,
Sorry for the short notice but I just found out that Rogers Community
Television (Cable 4 in Vancouver) will have an update on Bjossa's
situation on Sunday, October 22 at 7pm which will include footage from
Bjossa's concert (Born To Be Wild/June 10) and footage from the 36 hr.
caged protest outside the Vancouver Aquarium (Oct.7-8).
Bjossa is still being kept in the back area of the main pool, she's
very ill and restricted from doing any whale shows. According to the
media, Bjossa is not eating and they seem to be treating this as another
"death watch" for yet another captive dolphin that may soon die
at the Aquarium.
Bjossa was scheduled to go to SeaWorld in San Diego this fall, but
SeaWorld has not yet filed with the US National Marine Fisheries Service
the total application required to import Bjossa into the US, probably
because Bjossa is still very sick. If SeaWorld ever finalizes this
application, it will then be posted on the US Federal Notice which will
give us 30 days to send our comments opposing the transfer. The Aquarium
is now saying that Bjossa won't be transferred until January or February
2001.
